Our Isurava Program supports young people at risk of disengaging from education, family, and community, giving them the tools to build resilience and thrive. We are seeking a dedicated Intake and Support Officer for the program who will play a vital role in engaging young people and their families, coordinating referrals, and ensuring every participant is set for success in the program.
What you’ll do:
- Be the first point of contact for young people and their families, building trust and guiding them through intake and assessment.
- Work closely with referrers (schools, QPS, Child Safety, Youth Justice, and community partners) to coordinate assessments and support plans.
- Develop and maintain accurate participant records in line with Child Safe Standards.
- Support risk and safety planning with a trauma-aware and culturally responsive approach.
- Contribute to program outcomes by ensuring strong stakeholder communication and effective case coordination.
We’re looking for someone who has:
- A diploma or degree in Community Services, Youth Work, Social Work, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Experience in youth engagement, intake, and case coordination.
- Knowledge of trauma-informed and culturally safe practice, particularly for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander young people.
- Strong organisational, data management, and administrative skills.
- Excellent communication and rapport-building skills.
- A current driver’s licence and Working with Children Check (or ability to obtain).
- Applicants must have valid work authorisation to work in Australia.
