Staff members were really impressed with the instructors in terms of organisation, enthusiasm and engagement. We particularly liked bush craft, teaching the students how to identify trees, make damper etc. The activities extended the student learning of bush survival and general interest in camping
Loreto
Our first year experiencing Kokoda with the Year cohort, and we will definitely be back. An amazing 5 days of outdoor challenges, team building, appreciation and growth – away from distractions and technology. A magical, bush setting for students to gain insight into self and others. Delicious, clean, healthy meals – students gained endless skills in bush cooking and utilising fire. Plenty of camp games, laughs, group challenges, fun, adventure and creativity. Professional, knowledgeable group leaders – guiding and seeking each student to ‘be more’. Very evident Camp Kokoda is a well-oiled establishment that offers a must experience for our fine youth of today. One of challenge, fun and growth. One that caters for varying abilities and confidence. One that maintains safety and respect. Camp Kokoda was a powerful experience for our students, they cannot stop raving about it
Marymount
Excellent leaders – kept the students engaged, spoke with confidence and were fun but with lessons that will carry students through life
This camp really tested our survival skills, teaching us how to put up a tent, cook our own food, etc. Kokoda was a way to not only test our survival skills, but to learn about the young men who had to travel 100’s of kilometres to fight for this country in WWII. The staff were really nice and helped us if we needed it. Some of the fun things about this camp were the memories, camps in general generate good memories, but Kokoda was different, being outdoors was really relaxing. Overall, a really good experience
