Kokoda YOUTH FOUNDATION
Our volunteers are at the heart of everything we do. It’s the dedication, time and passion from our incredible supporters that make it possible for us to deliver meaningful youth programs to the young people we support. Â
There are many ways to make an impact and be a catalyst for change in the lives of local youth. Become a program leader, guiding groups of teens through our transformative activities, serve as a mentor, offering support and encouragement, work in administration role behind-the-scenes supporting our youth programs or lend a helping hand on our Kokoda Challenge event days or more. Every role contributes to empowering the young people we support and helps change lives, including your own.

Every dollar raised through our flagship event, the Kokoda Challenge, goes directly toward delivering transformative youth programs to young people across Australia, free of charge, so there is no cost to families involved. The Kokoda Challenge is not operated by an event company, and as a not-for-profit organisation, we are powered by the passion and commitment of our volunteers and supporters, who make this life-changing work possible.
Volunteering with the Kokoda Challenge is a fun and rewarding way to make a real difference. Each year, we rely on hundreds of dedicated volunteers to deliver events across the Sunshine Coast, Brisbane, Gold Coast and Sydney. With a variety of roles available before, during and after event weekend – whether you can give a few hours or make a larger commitment, your support is truly valued and appreciated.
We have a number of event roles available for our 2026 events:

The Kokoda Youth Foundation is a locally operated charity that has proudly supported Australian young people and their local communities for 20 years. Our experiential youth programs help young people increase their physical and mental resilience, confidence, and instil the Kokoda values of Courage, Endurance, Mateship and Sacrifice through the story of the Kokoda Campaign in 1942. These programs are offered free of charge, thanks to the generosity of our supporters.
