Full time: $68,000 – $72,000 per year
At the Kokoda Youth Foundation (KYF), we believe in changing lives through the Spirit of Kokoda –
Courage, Endurance, Mateship, and Sacrifice. Our Isurava Program supports young people at risk of
disengaging from education, family, and community, giving them the tools to build resilience and
thrive.
We are seeking a dedicated Intake and Support Officer to play a vital role in engaging young people
and their families, coordinating referrals, and ensuring every participant is set up for success in the
program.
What you’ll do:
• Be the first point of contact for young people and their families, building trust and guiding
them through intake and assessment.
• Work closely with referrers (schools, QPS, Child Safety, Youth Justice, and community
partners) to coordinate assessments and support plans.
• Develop and maintain accurate participant records in line with Child Safe Standards.
• Support risk and safety planning with a trauma-aware and culturally responsive approach.
• Contribute to program outcomes by ensuring strong stakeholder communication and
effective case coordination.
What we’re looking for:
• A diploma or degree in Community Services, Youth Work, Social Work, or a related field (or
equivalent experience).
• Experience in youth engagement, intake, and case coordination.
• Knowledge of trauma-informed and culturally safe practice, particularly for Aboriginal and
Torres Strait Islander young people.
• Strong organisational, data management, and administrative skills.
• Excellent communication and rapport-building skills.
• A current driver’s licence and Working with Children Check (or ability to obtain).
• Applicants must have valid work authorisation to work in Australia.
Why join us?
• Be part of a passionate, values-driven organisation that’s been supporting young Australians
for 20 years.
• Work within a supportive team that prioritises collaboration and professional growth.
• Help shape positive futures for young people in Ipswich, the Gold Coast, and beyond.
• Enjoy a role that is meaningful, varied, and makes a real difference every day.
If you’re ready to take the next step in a rewarding career and make a difference in the lives of young people, we’d love to hear from you. Apply now by sending your resume and cover letter to isurava@kokodayouthfoundation.com.
